DUTIES
- Conduct research and prepare scientific publications analysing the economics of water management and climate adaptation – for example, the adaptation of water infrastructure, water demand and adaptation behaviour of private households and firms, adaptation planning in the public sector, or the development of nature-based solutions for water-related climate adaptation (e.g. re-establishment of floodplains, blue-green infrastructures)
- Undertake your own scientific qualification
- Co-organise scientific workshops and events
- Teach courses related to the research field in English
REQUIREMENTS
- A master’s degree in Economics or a related field (ideally with a focus on Environmental Economics), possibly with a PhD
- Experience and sound knowledge in econometrics, spatial and geo-referenced data analysis, and/or numerical modelling
- Experience with programs for quantitative analysis such as Stata, R, Python and/or Mathematica
- Knowledge of water management and/or climate adaptation in Germany and/or other countries is an advantage
- Initiative, and an independent, responsible working style
- A passion for learning and continuous personal development
- Excellent English skills; knowledge of German is an advantage
